New CEO of Icelandic Group

The Board of Directors of Icelandic Group has hired Mr. Lárus Ásgeirsson as the CEO of the Company. Mr. Ásgeirsson has extensive experience from the Icelandic and international business community. From 1991-2006 he was Director of Sales and Marketing of Marel hf. Iceland. He was Managing Director of Scanvaegt International, a subsidiary of Marel in Denmark, from 2006-2008 and Corporate Director of Sales and member of the Management Board of Marel Food Systems from 2008-2009. Furthermore, he was deputy CEO of Marel from 2006-2009. Most recently he worked as the CEO of Sjóvá Almennar insurance company from 2009-2011.

Lárus holds a BSc degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Iceland and an MSc degree in Mechanical Engineering from Oklahoma State University. He has served on various Boards in Iceland and abroad.
