Icelandic Norway
Sourcing at the origin
Founded in 1997, Icelandic Norway is located in Trondheim, in northern Norway.
With its vast coastline opening into some of the richest fishing grounds in the northern hemisphere, Norway has an annual fish export of around two million tonnes. Norway’s breathtaking coastline is set with a number of fish-filled fjords and some of the best Atlantic salmon grounds on earth made Trondheim the obvious location for Icelandic Group to establish an office. In addition, the office has contacts in the Russian market and sources raw material of Russian origin.
Today, Icelandic Norway has seven employees who source and sell frozen seafood from the northern hemisphere to the rest of the world. The company’s main business is to source seafood for trading and for wholesale markets, as well as sourcing for sister companies within the Icelandic Group, the latter of which account for 50% of Icelandic Norway’s total volume.
We source over 15,000 metric tonnes of fish and seafood per year. Our most successful products are headed and gutted fish, industrial blocks, interleaved fillets, and individually quick frozen (IQF) portions and fillets.
